1st Annual Interdisciplinary Conference on Ophthalmic Surgery
Conference in Orlando, FL
Activity Details
Activity Name:
1st Annual Interdisciplinary Conference on Ophthalmic Surgery
Description:
Conference in Orlando, FL
Needs Assessment:
Provided by the American College of Perioperative Medicine.
For physicians, nurses, healthcare executives and managers - Ophthalmology and Anesthesiology.
Need: various topics and themes were identified to break the silos that exists in ophthalmic perioperative care and challenge the current perioperative structure and facilitate the shift towards evidence-based, value based, patient-centered care.
Indeed, while intraoperative care is the safest it has ever been, the rate of postoperative deaths has not changed over the past 20 years.
Course Objectives:
Interviews of the target audience (ophthalmologists, anesthesiologists, healthcare managers and executives) has demonstrated the need for an inclusive conference in which all stakeholders attend in one conference. They wish that the conference will target teams from each participating organization. In the AM, plenary sessions were requested and in the afternoon tracks in the areas of clinical, financial, and operational will be conducted. To assure the mixing of the group, seats will be assigned in the plenary sessions. Such a conference not only will address clinical needs, but also operational and financial needs of the audience. .
