4th UCI Advanced International Men's Health Course
Virtual 2-day Urology Course
Activity Details
Activity Name: 4th UCI Advanced International Men's Health Course
Description: Virtual 2-day Urology Course
Needs Assessment: Needs Assessment:

The planning committee (including Drs. Ghoniem and Yafi) has significant experience with international societies such as the International Continence Society (Ghoniem), Society for Urodynamics and Female Urology (Ghoniem) and the International Society for Sexual Medicine (Yafi). Through interactions in these societies and their regional affiliates in underserved countries and regions without enough exposure, we have noticed a significant gap in knowledge, experience and confidence with male prosthetics. The inflatable and malleable penile prostheses are considered the gold standard for the management of advanced erectile dysfunction, while the male sling and artificial urinary sphincter are considered the gold standards for the management of moderate to severe stress urinary incontinence.
This knowledge is paramount to helping physicians in these regions offer quality of life altering interventions to many men in need. We are uniquely positioned at UCI where we have multiple fellowship-trained urologists who are experts in simple and complex prosthetic procedures as well as the management of complications related to these surgeries.
As requested by international physicians from the urology societies, they need exposure and to fill a gap in knowledge about penile prosthetic procedures and management of urinary incontinence in the underserved countries and regions they belong to.
Urology specialty guidelines recommend this specialized training for men's health urologists, urinary incontinence specialists and andrology specialists.
Course Objectives: Objectives:

* Diagnose, work-up and manage patients with sexual dysfunction, hypogonadism, Peyronie's disease, BPH and incontinence.
