Course Information
Needs Assessment:
The colloquium will bring together pediatricians, administrators, researchers and other health care professionals interested in advancing the use of telemedicine and mobile health in pediatric care.
The two-day event will provide an overview of the essentials to begin and sustain a pediatric telehealth program. Providing pediatric care through telemedicine has resulted in positive outcomes including higher patient and family satisfaction, higher quality of care, lower rates of medical errors, and in many circumstances, significant cost savings.
Course Objectives:
Evaluate the policy and legal considerations surrounding telehealth care.
Describe various models of pediatric telehealth programs.
Evaluate types of technologies that are available and strategies for measuring the success of their pediatric telehealth programs.
Implement or improve the pediatric telehealth program at their institutions.
Identify uses of direct-to-consumer technologies and what may be appropriate for their programs.
Discuss challenges in the field and identify opportunities to overcome these barriers to broaden the use of pediatric telehealth services.
