Needs Assessment:
To improve knowledge and current practice guidelines across various ophthalmic sub-specialties and review common and no-so-common clinical and surgical scenarios to improve patient care.
Course Objectives:
Objectives:
1. Implement micro-invasive surgical options in an appropriate manner to increase their ability to treat glaucoma.
2. Understands when, and in what order, to use MIGs, drops and lasers
3. Utilize ocular anti-VEGF therapy as a promising option for the treatment of DME and RVO.
4. Implementation of MG imaging and testing of tears for inflammation (MMP-9) and hyperosmolarity may improve clinical outcomes (both signs and symptoms). (MIGS)
5. Increase understanding of patient selection consideration and IOL options for patients desiring presbyopia correction.
6. Increase comfort of general ophthalmologists in knowing when to refer retinal conditions to a retinal specialist.
7. Utilizing pre and intraoperative methods of refining astigmatism correction.
8. How to manage patients in the acute settings and counseling to provide regarding longitudinal management and overall prognosis.
