	42nd Annual Advanced Nephrology: Nephrology for the Consultant The UC San Diego School of Medicine, Division of Nephrology-Hypertension presents the 42nd Annual Advanced Nephrology: Nephrology for the Consultant conference to be held at the Coronado Island Marriott on January 19-21, 2023. This course has been designed with the practicing nephrologist in mind, providing clinically relevant, up-to-date practice and management guidelines on a range of nephrology topics that should prove valuable in the day-to-day practices of nephrology.

Description:	The UC San Diego School of Medicine, Division of Nephrology-Hypertension presents the 42nd Annual Advanced Nephrology: Nephrology for the Consultant conference to be held at the Coronado Island Marriott on January 19-21, 2023. This course has been designed with the practicing nephrologist in mind, providing clinically relevant, up-to-date practice and management guidelines on a range of nephrology topics that should prove valuable in the day-to-day practices of nephrology.
Course Objectives:	Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to: Appropriately evaluate and manage hyponatremia Discuss the role of hypertonic saline in the management of hyponatremia Describe the role of kidney biopsy in distinguishing causes of membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis Evaluate adequacy in patients on peritoneal dialysis Recognize racial disparities in nephrology Identify common symptoms in patients with end stage kidney disease, and describe current treatment options for those symptoms Discuss various approaches to blood pressure measurement in patients with end stage kidney disease Describe core concepts in home hemodialysis Evaluate peripheral artery disease in patients with chronic kidney disease Appropriately manage patients with chronic kidney disease in the setting of diabetes Identify new and controversial issues presented in this year's nephrology literature Discuss pre-transplant considerations for patients with obesity and glomerular disease
