This course has been designed with the practicing nephrologist in mind, providing clinically relevant, up-to-date practice and management guidelines on a range of nephrology topics that should prove valuable in the day-to-day practices of nephrology.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
Appropriately evaluate patients considering home dialysis
Optimally manage blood pressure in patients with chronic kidney disease
Describe how hepatitis C and HIV may lead to kidney disease
Effectively evaluate the patient presenting with suspected or confirmed monoclonal gammopathy of renal significance
Discuss the evidence behind protein restriction in CKD
Provide nutrition recommendations for patients on dialysis
Describe the relationship between APOL1 risk alleles and kidney disease
Recognize renal indications for plasmapheresis
Identify new and high-impact findings presented in this year?s nephrology literature
