11th Annual Fetal Echocardiography Symposium at UCLA: Clinical Tips and Pearls from the Experts
Activity Details
Activity Name: 11th Annual Fetal Echocardiography Symposium at UCLA: Clinical Tips and Pearls from the Experts
Needs Assessment: Our ?11th Annual Fetal Echocardiography Symposium at UCLA: Clinical Tips and Pearls from the Experts" returns in a live virtual format, with all lectures being presented in real time and only the live scanning session pre-recorded. Registrants will have the opportunity to watch the entirety of the day either live and/or on-demand over a 3-week period following the conference. The symposium will bring together remotely (but in an exciting, live and interactive format) a world-class group of outstanding speakers with over a hundred years of imaging experience combined. In response to overwhelmingly positive feedback from last year?s symposium (over 300 registrants from over 36 USA states and 26 countries), we are planning expanded question and answer opportunities, round-table discussions of clinically relevant topics, and of course a fully updated, clinically oriented and state-of-the-art program. This year?s outstanding faculty?including sonographers, maternal-fetal medicine subspecialists and pediatric cardiologists?will provide a comprehensive overview of the basic and more nuanced aspects of fetal cardiac imaging?both fetal cardiac screening and detailed fetal echocardiography. As in previous years, the symposium will include demonstrations of actual fetal cardiac screening and fetal echocardiography, as well as live, personal testimonials from pediatric patients with congenital heart disease.
Course Objectives: At the conclusion of this intensive, one-day symposium, participants will be better able to: (1) Identify current guidelines for fetal cardiac screening and fetal echocardiography (2) Improve their basic approach to screening low risk pregnancies for fetal heart disease (3) Identify new ways to optimize image quality and angle of acquisition (4) Acquire high-quality images/clips of the four-chamber view, outflow tracts, and three-vessel views (5) Evaluate and diagnose fetal arrhythmias (6) Recognize the importance of a perinatal team approach to the management of fetal heart disease
