Teleguided Hands-on Training in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound for Arthritic Conditions: Ankle, Knee and Elbow
The Teleguided Hands-on Training in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound for Arthritic Conditions: Ankle, Knee and Elbow program offers live, virtual teleguided training from expert faculty, focusing on musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS) for evaluation of arthritic conditions and musculoskeletal abnormalities and syndromes. This program is a 3 hour live, virtual course developed to provide hands-on training in musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS) for evaluation of arthritic conditions and musculoskeletal abnormalities and syndromes. The main objective of the course is to enable physicians and other care providers to use MSKUS as a point-of care-imaging tool to assist with the diagnosis and treatment of joint pains. During this activity participants/attendees will connect individually with faculty instructors using tele-guidance platforms. The faculty instructor will be able to observe and correct imaging techniques and ultrasound images by the participant/attendee in real time. This teleguided hands-on course is the only course of its kind offered to date featuring ultrasound tele learning.

Course Objectives: Following completion of this educational activity, learners should be able to:

  • Demonstrate standard MSKUS transducer positions for ankles, knees, elbows
  • Demonstrate image acquisition to delineate the most important intra-articular structures in the ankle, knee and elbow
  • Interpret sono-anatomy of ankles, knees, elbows
