Global Objective for series Be aware of the importance of radiation safety as it relates to fluoroscopy practice. When treating patients, physicians often forget to consider the "invisible" threat of radiation. The goal of this activity is to reduce the radiation doses to both patient and staff by describing the radiation hazards and explaining how to reduce exposure.
Objectives - At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
1. List the benefits and possible detractors of Digital Radiography, particularly when compared to screen-film radiography. 2. Acquire entry-level knowledge of the processing that occurs in Digital Radiography. 3. Describe some differences between available Digital Radiography options.
