Global Objective for series
Be aware of the importance of radiation safety as it relates to fluoroscopy practice. When treating patients, physicians often forget to consider the "invisible" threat of radiation. The goal of this activity is to reduce the radiation doses to both patient and staff by describing the radiation hazards and explaining how to reduce exposure.

Activity Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify who may operate fluoroscopy equipment
  2. Describe the risks of potential radiation exposures associated with cardiac fluoroscopy
  3. List aspects of fluoroscopy operations which are relevant to radiation safety and good medical practice

Method of participation:

  1. View slides – available in PDF format
  2. Complete the test (must pass 80% or better – you have three chances)
  3. Complete the evaluation
  4. Certificate will generate after passing test and evaluations are completed
