This one-day educational conference focuses on what is new and notable in interventional radiology. The conference will be separated into topic lecture sessions (in a rapid-fire format), and a best case/worst case session, where use of new and novel techniques will be featured in addition to morbidity/mortality. There will be a total of 6.5 hours of topic lectures and one hour of best case/worst case for a total of 7.5 hours of educational content.
This conference will allow a forum for the young physician-scientists in the field to talk about the "next generation" of IR. There is also a multidisciplinary session where we can learn valuable clinical skills from our colleagues in ICU, radiation oncology, urology, anesthesia, and Ob/Gyn. The involvement of junior attendings, IR fellows, and IR-interested residents will allow networking opportunities for job seekers, and research and clinical collaboration.
Immediately prior to the conference, there will be a one-hour medical student and resident session, including information on training in and succeeding in IR and what it’s like to be in IR practice. Breakfast, snacks, lunch, and refreshments will be provided at the meeting hotel, which is Shutters on the Beach Hotel. At the conclusion of the sessions, a dinner reception will be hosted at nearby restaurant, 41 Ocean.
