The UC San Diego School of Medicine, Division of Nephrology-Hypertension, invite you to attend the 37th Annual Advanced Nephrology: Nephrology for the Consultant conference to be held January 25-27, 2018 at the Coronado Island Marriott in Coronado, California. This course has been designed with the practicing nephrologist in mind, providing clinically relevant, up-to-date practice and management guidelines on a range of nephrology topics that should prove valuable in the day to day practices of nephrology.

Description: The UC San Diego School of Medicine, Division of Nephrology-Hypertension, invite you to attend the 37th Annual Advanced Nephrology: Nephrology for the Consultant conference to be held January 25-27, 2018 at the Coronado Island Marriott in Coronado, California. This course has been designed with the practicing nephrologist in mind, providing clinically relevant, up-to-date practice and management guidelines on a range of nephrology topics that should prove valuable in the day to day practices of nephrology.
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Interpret and assess questions regarding diagnosis and management of various kidney disorders (glomerulonephritis, electrolyte disorders, acute kidney injury) faced by nephrologists on a daily basis
  • Review renal pathology
  • Utilize new technologies in the interaction with patients and the nephrology community
  • Describe the newest treatment strategies and guidelines for blood pressure management
  • Recognize new therapeutic strategies in patients with chronic and end stage kidney disease treated by hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
  • Identify new and controversial issues presented in this year's nephrology literature
  • Integrate the pathophysiology, diagnosis and new treatments of glomerular diseases
  • Discuss new regulations and therapies in the arena of kidney transplantation
