Strandness Symposium and Vascular Care 2017
Needs Assessment:
Starting in 2015, The Biennial Strandness Symposium: Diagnostic Approaches to Vascular Disease and Vascular Care: Best Practices and Innovative Approaches will be offered together. Combining these established, popular continuing medical education programs offers an unparalleled opportunity for multi-disciplinary and interprofessional learning.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Two established, popular continuing medical education programs offered together engaging a variety of learner groups, with special emphasis on international outreach and inter-professional engagement

Hands-on simulation modules to enhance the learner outcomes
Core program themes will be presented in parallel sessions including:
The Strandness Symposium focusing the vascular laboratory, vascular diagnostics and integration of physicians, vascular technologists, nurses and others in the care of the patient with vascular disease
Vascular Care will continue to emphasize a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of vascular disease, with a focus on minimally-invasive techniques and advanced technologies
Course Objectives:
Core program themes will be presented in parallel sessions each morning. These will include the Strandness Symposium focus on the vascular laboratory, vascular diagnostics, and integration of physicians, vascular technologists, nurses and others in the care of the patient with vascular disease. The core program of Vascular Care will continue to emphasize a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of vascular disease, with a focus on minimally-invasive techniques and advanced technologies. Afternoon workshops and lunch symposia will engage learners in smaller groups, focusing on specialized topics, incorporation of new diagnostic and treatment tools into clinical practice, and provide opportunities for learner assessment or skills validation. The 2017 combined meeting will engage a variety of learner groups, with special emphasis on international outreach and inter-professional engagement.
